~ snap it ... spiky ~

Our intrepid ballerina/gymnast/chaser of boys/tennis player/rollerblader* has a badly sprained ankle this week.

We've been strapping it each day...and boy do those spiky little clip thingies hurt if you grab them the wrong way (tape is much better and safer).

I'm playing snap-it over here with Sarah where there are other spiky things to see.

* of course it was the chasing of the boys that caused the injury and not all that intense sporty stuff

~ snap it ... bling ~

There's been some magic in our garden this week
Self -seeded violas popping up amongst the grass
Like jewels (or, if you will, garden bling)

I'm playing snap-it (with a very loose interpretation of the theme word this week) over here

~ snap it ... breakfast ~

{Sometimes when it all goes pear shaped I have this after school drop off}

{My weekend treats - Pigeon Hole sour dough and raspberry jam}

Breakfast time around here used to be quite stressful  (3 kids, different tastes, ordering from the menu in their head.... )
That is until I introduced the "school days" and "other days" rules - on school days they can choose between weetbix or porridge (and then add extras like fruit/toast), on other days they can choose from the cupboard (usually nutrigrain, rice bubbles, mini wheats or cheerios) and campaign for eggs/pancakes etc as well.  There's always fresh fruit available.  They drink water or milk.
No fights.
Breakfast sorted.

I usually have porridge in winter (topped with stewed rhubarb or stewed apple) and bircher muesli in the warmer months. ( I mix Carman's muesli with grated apple, yoghurt, cinnamon, honey, nuts, dried apricots, craisins and have a big tub in the fridge...yum!).  The Doc has a banana on his way out the door... I still need to work on him.

Do you have breakfast rules?
See some other yummy breakfasts here where we play snap-it each week.

{holiday rainbow toes are becoming a family tradition}

{they have fun together...that makes my heart sing}

{still happy to pile in the bath together...I love that}

{first day back term 3}

My 3.

~ snap it ... colourful ~

I sort of jumped the gun a bit with lots of bright colourful shots on last week's post

It's so not a problem though...my kids, like so many others, are addicted to colour.
Gracie, in particular, has spent much of her life wanting to be a rainbow.

We've had the beads out a lot this holidays....many hours of fun.  Loads of colour.

I'm playing along with the snap-it theme here.

Sitting here wishing my wardrobe was as bright and fun as theirs
(and that the spring sunshine would reappear)

Linking up with Sarah for snap-it (bright) this week.

~ snap it ... shiny ~

Life's not very shiny here at the moment
Two little souls are hot and miserable and coughing their lungs out (?more whooping cough).

Here are some shiny spider-web shots we took a few weeks ago - helped along with a squirty bottle of water, a keen 3yo and some sparkling sunshine.

There's more shiny goodness here.

~ snap it ... upside down ~

My life's feeling a bit like this at the moment - a bit topsy-turvy.
Not finding time for photography or blogging or...
Hopefully all will right itself again soon

Joining with Sarah over at faith, hope and a whole lotta love for a weekly snap-it theme.

~ snap it ... night time ~

A few of our night-time musts.

Furry boots, snuggly pjs, cuddly toys(the monkey doubles as a heat pack), books (and more books).
What's the night-time routine like at your house?

This is my take on the night-time theme at this week's link-up at Sarah's lovely blog.

~ snap it ... soft ~

Caramel is just about the only soft centre I really like... but even then I like the harder, chewy ones better.
I can still pick the hard and soft centres - and my favourites - without thinking from a box of Roses
Which one is your favourite?

~ snap-it....growing ~

There's always a lot of growing going on around here...good thing too when you're trying to make healthy kids.

We have a height chart on the door jamb in the office... all heights are officially recorded here once a year (it broke my heart just a little when we renovated and had to move the old one to here)...and it looks like that little man is going to catch his sisters waaay too soon.

I love going back to my mum's place and seeing all our marks on her height wall...such good memories.

Where do you record your children's heights?  Does your childhood chart still exist?

~ snap-it ... yesterday ~

These are my yesterdays.
Journals filled with words, memories, dreams and random bits of our life.
I rarely go back through them...but when I do I get so teary and emotional.
And I realise just how much I forget...and how good the remembering is.

I join in with Sarah and her snap-it game every Wednesday.

What happened to you yesterday?
