~ snippets and stills ~

1.  Today we made beautiful rainbows and lots of mess with watercolours, wet paper and lots of imagination.  The highlight - just spodging on colour and then tipping the page to mix the colours in long wet trails.

2.  Kinder work from this week.   Awwww....

3.  A pink iceberg from just outside my office window.

4.  We made a washi tape road.  And then we had a lot of cars (in patterns) desperate to use the road.

5.  I have no idea what prompted this moment of silence.  But in better news - she has learned to tie her own shoes now!

6.  It's no secret I've been enjoying the blossoms this week.

7.  Hidden amongst the blossoms - a perfect web - I'd love to go back with a spray bottle of water for some gorgeous droplet shots.  Have you ever tried that?

These are just some of the little moments from our week.
I really love the glimpse it gives in to our lives - and its so much fun peeking into other lives over here where Em hosts the weekly linky.

What was the highlight of your week?

~ on gaining perspective in a cloud of marshmallow pink ~

First day back at school today and I was feeling out of sorts;
  • impatient with the the youngest who was still at home and being all kinds of demanding.
  • resentful of the mess that lay all around - what looked like fun holiday games yesterday, today just mocked at me and my inadequate domestic goddess skills.
  • scratchy, irritated eyes from a niggling viral conjunctivitis.
  • swirling, chaotic plans in my head when what I seek is clarity of thought.

Then the afternoon sunlight hit the blossom tree over the road.
I think I may have gasped out loud.

Five minutes of time alone, snapping away, marvelling at the pinkness of the coming spring was all it took to turn my day around.

If only it was always that easy.

~ a spring resolution ~

I love this time of year.

I love that it starts to warm up (a little), the garden starts to burgeon and grow and blossom.
My babies are all spring babies and so I am - so there is lots to celebrate in the coming months.
I love the possibilities that open up and the lightness that fills my heart.

None of which explains why this week I joined a gym.  For the first time EVER.
I'm still coming to grips with this.
I've always been a hockey girl, a tennis girl, a swimming or walking girl.
Not into jigging up and down, or set classes or (horrors!) gym gear.

So why??
  • I have 2 very dear friends who have been nagging me, weekly, for months now, to join them at this class, or that class, or on this run, or that run.  They are fit, fun and enthusiastic....they've worn me down.
  • I want to find my waist again - it got lost there amongst all those babies and late night snacks.
  • The Doc joined and I'm nothing if not supportive.
  • They had a super special and I didn't feel like I was going to waste my money.

So here I am, committing to regular exercise for the next two months.
A spring resolution if you like (which makes more sense to me that trying to start in the slothful, gluttonous months of summer).

Anyone else making plans, getting started on new projects?
How about a spring resolution?

~ they hung garlands of pink and declared it was time to start thinking of spring ~

Sunshine (that would be post the thickest frost of the year.  A frost which made me resort to scraping the windscreen with my credit card.  I may have also resorted to a few choice words.  They didn't help as much as the credit card.)

Skipping to school (because Princess G felt "all skippy" inside.  As you do when you're six).

And new blossoms appearing every day

Life is sweet
