This rose bush only flowers for a few weeks a year - a huge showy display of roses right in the middle of our garden. I have no idea what its called and it's in really inconvenient position but each year I'm captivated by just how lovely it is.
Most of the other roses are through their first flush - I dead-headed for a couple of hours on the weekend and the bushes look so empty now. Many of the other flowers have been knocked around by the seemingly endless November rains - especially my poor peonies.
So these are my Nov/Dec offerings - one beautiful bunch for my bedside table.
Every month I create a mood board (of sorts!) from my garden. I link up here - lots of beautiful photos from different gardens/climates around the world.

I had to race into the garden between squally showers to rescue a few precious flowers for the vases - spring storms are lashing our city and gardens... I feel lucky that there's anything left to show.
Once again, this didn't turn out quite how I had it planned in my mind (I'm not
sure why I'm surprised - my photos rarely live up to how my mind thinks
they will look). Does anyone else have that problem?
In the end the floral chaos is a fairly accurate
representation of my spring garden though - lots of pinks and blues - and not
much that is very ordered. Here's last years from the same time of year

Spring is my favourite time of the year. The sheer pink exuberance of the blossom trees and magnolias lining the streets, the first hint of warmth in the air, the scent of jasmine and daphne as I break a piece off to bring inside each time I pass.
The garden is a beautiful chaotic rainbow - pinks, reds, yellows, blues and purples interspersed with bare patches and naked branches.
I love the prettiness, the sense of expectation, the promise of more.
How does your garden grow? See other mood boards here and link up your own - I'd love to see it.

Winter's chill is still in the air but my garden is glowing yellow in the low afternoon light.
Daffodils, snow flakes and jonquils scattered through the garden, showing their cheery faces.
I gathered a bunch for the kitchen table.
My mood board for this time last year is here.
