We lived in WA for for 7 years and I never stopped missing the change of seasons.
The change is gentle there, time drifts along and the seasons morph from one to another without fanfare.
Tassie is never like that - yes, we can have all 4 seasons in a day but the seasons bring changes to our streets and gardens that simply stop you in your tracks.
All week I've been pointing out amazing red trees, gorgeous stacks of leaves, beautiful berries, amazing street-scapes to my kids.
They tolerate me... just.
But I'm so grateful to be here, living these change of seasons and marvelling at the beauty that comes with change, decay and growth.

I'm linking with Maxabella at grateful's new home. Go and have a look.
What's your favourite season?
Beautiful colours and it just feels right when autumn feels and looks like autumn. Last time I saw colours like these in Sydney was towards the end of July!
ReplyDeleteThose autumn colours are beautiful. In Queensland our seasons are like WA, the crispness is in the air but we don't get to see such a big change here sadly. If I had to choose my favourite season it would have to be Spring, it's starting to warm up but isn't hot like Summer. I like Winter too now as I get older, love rugging up and getting nice and cosy. xx
ReplyDeletesuch gorgeous colour, I do wish we got that here
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog. I loved this post. Even to read something about what some one else is feeling gateful about makes you appreciate life more. So I appreciate you for sharing this thought.:)
ReplyDeleteI do love the changing seasons! Autumn is just so beautiful... I think it's my fave. Until the next season change that is! x
ReplyDeleteStunning images. I love the leaves in Autumn too - especially the orange-red! The extremes of Summer and Winter are my favourites tho, but I'm not entirely sure why... xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Everyday Miracle! You have captured the colours superbly. I love Autumn and Spring. Visiting from grateful x
ReplyDeletebeautiful colours here ally! captured beautifully as always. I think spring is my favourite, beautiful warm days and everything coming to life again after the depths of winter.. and my firstborn is a spring baby, as am I.. maybe that has something to do with it! x
ReplyDeleteAdelaide has the change of seasons and these beautiful colours! beautiful photos x
ReplyDeleteI love the glorious autumn.
ReplyDeleteLesley x.
Gorgeous photos! The leaves on my magnolias have started to turn and fall, they look so pretty. I don't pick up leaves until the trees are bare, I don't see the point!
ReplyDeleteMy fave season is Summer, I'm a beach girl at heart and I love the hot days. But at this time of year I tell myself I like Winter, just to get me through it. Two things (only!) about Winter that I love are the flowers on my magnolias (they only last a few weeks) and a trip to the Snowy Mountains!
Just gorgeous, Ally. I love Autumn and its colour but I must admit that I do miss the warmer weather. Spring is the absolute best, though :)
ReplyDeleteoh I agree - Autumn in Tasmania is glorious, and your photos definitely do us justice. We have a little nectarine tree that we had to transplant this year as soon as it was bare, on the first day of Autumn it dropped ALL it's leaves. :)
ReplyDeleteOh maybe we could drive around together. We're paying lots of attention so that we can pick trees we'd like to plant for their colour. We recently planted a tulip tree and a liquidambar. But there are so many stunning trees I'd like to see out our windows!! Beautiful photos Ally.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. Autumn is my favorite season too! When I was in WA in April, the leaves were falling but they didn't have the depth of colour Tassie gets. I thought how sad that they don't see Autumn the same as us.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is DEFINITELY my favourite season. Your photos encapsulate why - colour. Oh and my birthday is in there too. Happy Mother's Day Ally! Stop by my blog if you have a sec because I've given you a little award. You bring sunshine! xx Chris
ReplyDeleteI don't have a single favorite ... but autumn is definitely up there with spring. Sometimes I find myself confused as to what season it actually is here in Canberra after I've been spending time viewing magical images of the opposite season from the other hemisphere ... I have to check myself :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, such lovely images. I love autumn leaves too.
